CER VX Custom Irons Results

As you may have noticed I ordered a set of custom clubs last month. Well I just got out to play them and to describe them in one word "amazing"!

Having changed nothing else other than using my new irons instead of my 8 year old set of cheap big box irons I've dropped my score on a 9 hole round by 4 strokes on average and 18 hole round by 7-8 strokes.

The biggest difference has been the consistency of shots, keeping the ball in the fairway and far more precise shots overall.

The hybrids are easier to hit out of the rough than the typical 4 and 5 irons though I still need to get used to hitting them off the fairway. They play much like a 3w or 5w in that regard.

The gap wedge is a big help and fills the need between the PW and SW that I have though I'm having some trouble dialing in the distance. All in due time.

Overall these were well worth the $200 and gave me an instant improvement. To answer the question are custom clubs worth it? Definitely! Especially if you are playing with off brand and/or clubs that are a few years old.

Next up a new driver!
